Our Mission
The mission of the LCO Youth Council is to empower our youth to rise together by speaking up, taking action, and leading with cultural pride. By doing so, we prepare our youth to thrive in a rapidly changing world and sustain the sovereignty and future of the Anishinabeg.
What Is LCO Youth Council?
The LCO Youth Council is a youth-led space where your voice matters, your ideas shape action, and your leadership creates real change for Lac Courte Oreilles.
As a member of the LCO Youth Council, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide a collective voice for LCO youth
- Create youth-led-solutions to youth challenges
- Promote cultural identity and belonging
- Organize activities, projects, and events
- Build leadership and confidence
- Strengthen community pride
- Strengthen connections between youth and Tribal leadership
How To Join
Membership in the LCO Youth Council is open to any Tribal member or other Native American who is 14-24 years old. If you would like to join, please do the following:
Submit An Application
Be sure to fully complete the application and include the following information:
- Your name
- Your address
- Your phone number
- Your Tribal enrollment number
- Your date of birth
- Your signature and, if you is under 18 years old, the signature of the your parent, guardian, or custodian
- The date of the signature(s)
Check back for more information in regard to where to pick up and submit applications.
Submit Letter of Support
The letter of support should come from a community or Tribal member.
